What the numbers say
UIUC offered admission to 29,446 of 67,398 applicants for fall 2023, an admit rate of 43.7%.1 The rate was 62.4% in fall 2013, so it has dropped 18.7 percentage points.1 Most of that fall came late. The rate was 59.7% in 2021 and 44.8% in 2022.1 Overall it declined in 6 of the 10 yearly changes.1 Applications grew 103% over the period, while admitted students grew 42%.1
Test scores are optional. For 2023, the middle 50% of SAT reading and writing scores was 630 to 730 and math was 640 to 780, with ACT composites of 29 to 34.1
